I'm making my background in Photoshop this week for my Nerd identity, and I looked at some more images for final reference.
Most of the effective images I found were quite plain and flat, focusing most of the attention on the Nerd.
I feel if my pose or actions are strong enough in the image then my background can be plain with a little detail to make me stand out like the other Nerd images.
